How we help

Pre-court

We can help if you’re involved in a dispute and would like to resolve it quickly and before it escalates into a potential court case.

Post-court

We can also help you resolve a dispute that has arisen after or as a result of going to court.  For example, you may have costs to negotiate or you may have previously received poor legal advice.

Investigation and consultation

And we can help you assess the potential for a dispute and prepare your case in advance. This will help you hit the deck running should a problem arise. It may even prevent the dispute from happening or from escalating and so reduce its impact on your time, finances and stress levels.

Support for in-house lawyers

Your in-house lawyer may be keen to reach an agreement but be neither comfortable with nor experienced in litigation. While we don’t replace them, we do complement what they provide to help you resolve your dispute quickly.

Do you work for a local authority?

We help local authorities’ in-house legal and leadership teams take a proactive approach to resolve and prevent disputes. We help them make full use of alternative dispute resolution, boost their commercial skills and ensure best value.

Referrals

We have a trusted network of people we often work with. If you need particular expertise to help you resolve your dispute, we can put you in touch with experienced firms and individuals and help you build an expert team.

Where we work

We can work with you wherever you are. We’re equally happy to come to your offices or go wherever else you may need us.

This includes international travel if you or the other party are not based in the UK. We are particularly able to help you resolve an international dispute due to our extensive cross-cultural understanding built up over many years working with people around the world.

When our services may not be right for you

We will not be able to help you, or continue to work for you, if:

  • One or more of the parties will not agree to participate
  • Our initial research shows there is little or no prospect of a successful outcome
  • All parties do not commit to maintain confidentiality throughout the entire process and in respect of the final agreement
  • One of the parties involved expects the other to stop a particular related action or behaviour with immediate effect
  • You have limited time to complete a related action, such as to issue a claim
